St. John's Community Thrift Store
The Thrift Store was founded in downtown New London as an outreach ministry of St. John's Episcopal Church. Since opening in May of 2002, we have seen God work in many wonderful ways.
Proceeds raised by the Thrift Store are distributed to local not-for-profit organizations like the Foundations For Living, Mission of Hope House, Feeding America, and Harbor House. The Thrift Store has donated funds to area schools to be used at the discretion of counselors and teachers for children who do not have the school supplies they need: backpacks, crayons, paper, and other items necessary for the children's education.
We are in awe of the tremendous work God is doing through this store and the many volunteers who help make it happen. This ministry is touching the lives of so many people!

The Christian Food Pantry
The Christian Food Pantry, sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church and St. John's Thrift Store, opened its' doors at 209 S. Pearl St. in New London in the fall of 2003. The Pantry serves about 65 families per week. It is managed by a team of faithful people from St. John's Church and community volunteers. Their efforts demonstrate not only a care for people in need of food but also portray the spiritual nourishment that flows from a relationship with God.
St. John's Community Thrift Store maintains rent and utilities for the Food Pantry as well as providing all the funds needed to purchase food. Various agencies and businesses have also offered generous donations of money and food to continue the work of the Pantry.
